SMART service

SMART is the Streatham Mainliners Assessment Referral Team, established in 1999, as a direct-access service for the growing number of people with drug related issues in the South Lambeth area of London. The service is funded by Lambeth Primary Care Trust to provide information and advice on harm reduction, safer sex practices, safer injecting and HIV/HCV prevention.

In addition, to the full menu of Mainliners services, SMART also provides substitute opiate prescribing through shared care with GPs. Each client is allocated a key worker who offers support and advice around drug use, harm reduction and relapse prevention.
