Can I Get Treated?

Anti-viral treatment is not advised for everyone with Hepatitis C. A range of factors are considered to determine if you will be able to cope with anti-viral treatment and how your care should be managed before, during and after treatment:

• Age
• Gender
• Genotype of the viral infection
• Duration of the infection
• Extent of damage to the liver
• Presence of cirrhosis
• Current drug and alcohol use
• History of cardiac or respiratory illness
• History of chronic depression
